$5 Indian Head Incuse design PCGS AU58 San Francisco Mint – Date Run
Get three popular $5 Indian Head gold coins with consecutive dates 1910,1911 and 1912. Each coin was struck at the San Francisco Mint and bears an S mintmark. The Indian Head design by Bela Lyon Pratt is one of just two U.S. coins to feature an incuse design, the other is the smaller Indian Head quarter eagle. Both pieces were minted from 1908 -1929.
These coins have no raised edges, and the main features of the design are in sunken relief below the surface of the coin. These pieces feature the first portrayal of an American Indian ever employed on U.S. Coinage.
Each coin is minted from .2418 troy ounce of .900 gold and is offered in AU58 Condition by PCGS. These coins show full detail with minor friction on only the highest points.
