NGC recognized the contributions to numismatics made by the Honorable Mike Castle, who served nine terms as a member of the US House of Representatives with a new Congressional Series Label.

While in Congress, Castle wrote and/or sponsored the bills that created the 50 State Quarters program, the American Buffalo 24kt gold coin series, the American Platinum Eagle series, the Sacagawea Dollar, the Presidential Dollar, the America the Beautiful Quarters, and several modern commemoratives.
