This legal tender one ounce silver proof coin was issued for the 250th anniversary of the BOSTON TEA PARTY, December 16, 1773. Only 5000 coins were minted for worldwide distribution making each coin an absolute rarity! - A coin that has a mintage so low that it’s difficult to find in any condition!

NGC has certified this piece in perfect museum quality PF70 condition, the highest state of perfection any coin can achieve.

In addition to the perfect PF70 grade, the designer Joel Iskowitz hand signed the coin.  Joel Iskowitz has over 50 design credits with the U.S. Mint, which explains why this design is so fantastic!

An interesting historic feature of this coin is the image of King Charles III by Glyn Davies is the first official British Isles King Charles III portrait for all the British Isles coins. The design was personally approved by King Charles III. Davies has designed several coins for the Royal Mint – The Sapphire Jubilee and some of the Tower of London series and the 2015 Remembrance Day coin. This was the first effigy of King Charles III, but the Royal mint has since adopted a design by Martin Jennings.

Design – The magnificent design depicts American Revolutionaries dressed up as Native Americans dumping tea overboard into the Boston Harbor.  If you look closely, you will see the East India Logo which is on all the cases of tea that went overboard.  It was a fantastic spectacle that was to PROTEST TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION.

Exquisite packaging - The coins are housed in laser engraved presentation case that were made to look like the tea cases thrown overboard that fateful day.  Get this, each case also comes with packets of tea that were the EXACT blend of black tea that was thrown overboard that day!  East India Company really did think of everything on this!

The Sons of Liberty.

The Boston Tea Party was organized and carried out by a group of Patriots led by Samuel Adams known as the Sons of Liberty. The Sons of Liberty organized to defend their rights, and to protest and undermine British rule. Famous Boston Patriots who were members of the Sons of Liberty included John Adams, John Hancock, James Otis, Josiah Quincy, Paul Revere, and Dr. Joseph Warren. Incited by the Sons of Liberty, over 5,000 people gathered at the Old South Meeting House, the largest public building in Boston at the time, at 10:00 AM on December 16, 1773, to decide what was to be done about the tea and to plan the Boston Tea Party.
