2022 W Burnished Gold & Silver Eagles – Advance Release Anna Cabral Signatures
 
These important 2022 first full year of production for coins with the new designs have very low mintages and are highly collectible in perfect MS70 condition. The U.S. Mint uses specially prepared coin blanks to make burnished coins the coin blanks are hand-fed into adapted coining presses one at a time. The burnishing process gives the coins a soft, matte-like finish that is popular with collectors. Burnished coins have a mintmark identifying their production facility.
 
Burnished Gold & Silver Eagles have lower mintages than bullion and proof strike coins. These coins struck at the WestPoint Mint have the lowest Advance Release designated mintages of any U.S. coins. The $50 Gold Eagle coin has a low authorized mintage of 9,000 coins and only 1,200 of them are eligible for Advance Release certification. The Silver Eagle coin has a low authorized mintage of 160,000 coins and only 12,000 of them are eligible for Advance Release certification.

 
Advance Release Certification

 
The Advanced Release designation signifies that a particular coin was among a small group of coins, the absolute first to be released from the United States Mint before the coins were offered to collectors and the general public. The Advance Release designation was introduced in 2021 and is only available on a select number of coin series. Advance Release coins are certified and graded ahead of coins designated as First Day of Issue and have tiny, certified populations.

 
Anna Escobedo Cabral Signature

Both pieces are hand signed by Anna Escobedo Cabral, 42nd Treasurer of the United States. Her signature appeared on Federal Reserve Notes Series 2003A, 2004A, 2006, and 2006A. Her signature is one of the best known in all of numismatics.
