This two-piece set features a $50 American Gold Buffalo coin minted in one troy-ounce of .9999 pure gold and an American $50 Gold Eagle minted in one troy-ounce of .9167 pure gold. Both coins have been certified in flawless MS70 condition and have the coveted First Day of Issue Attribution. Both coins are individually hand-signed by Michael Castle, “The Coinage Congressman”. Castle was a two-term Governor of Delaware and near twenty-year member of the US House of Representatives. He is directly responsible for some of the most important and popular modern U.S. coins. While in Congress Mike Castle introduced legislation that authorized a number of important modern U.S. coin programs. He authored and/or sponsored bills that resulted in the transformative American Gold Buffalo coins, America's first 24- karat gold coins, the American Platinum Eagle series, 50 States Quarters Program, the Sacagawea Dollar, the Presidential Dollar Series, and numerous commemoratives. Castle's fifth great-grandfathers were founding fathers, Benjamin Franklin and Daniel Carroll. His signature is one of the best known and most sought after in all of numismatics.
