This year marks 25 years since the United States Mint released this historic 2001 Buffalo Silver Dollar. For the first time since 1938, the original Buffalo nickel design was brought back to life in Denver, struck in one ounce of pure silver. The coin was wildly popular and sold out very quickly at the mint, paving the way for the Gold Buffalo program released five years later.
