1995 W American Silver Eagle NGC PF70 - Anna Cabral Signature
About this coin
Collectors consider the 1995 W Proof Silver Eagle the “King” of modern coins. This is because of its shockingly low mintage of just 30,125 coins. This was the first proof strike coin in the series struck at the West Point Mint, all prior releases were minted at the San Francisco or Philadelphia Mints with mintages of between 372,168 to 1,446,778 coins. The only way to buy the 1995 W coin was as part of a special five-piece tenth anniversary set that also included the $50, $25, $10 & $5 gold eagles. The issue price of $999 was thought to be prohibitive, especially since the 1995 P Silver eagle had already been released at $23. The record high public auction price for a none signature series coin was $86,000 in 2013.
