Since 2003, coins produced by the Royal Canadian Mint have shown a contemporary portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The design by Canadian artist Susanna Blunt shows the Queen uncrowned with a single strand of pearls around her neck, wearing a non-ceremonial dress.
