These 2-Piece sets comprise the final ever Type 1 Silver Eagles produced by the U.S. Mint and the first ever new Type 2 Silver Eagles produced by the U.S. Mint. From a mintage of 25,795,500 coins in 2021, only 100,000 Type 1 and 100,000 Type 2 coins have the provenance of being designated as last production or first production coins.
No other coins in U.S. Mint history have been identified by the U.S. Mint as Last and First production coins. These coveted NGC certified coins are signed by both Edmund C. Moy 38th Director of the U.S. Mint and David J Ryder, the 39th Director of the U.S. Mint, the two top signatures in all of numismatics. These two leaders are directly responsible for making the American Silver Eagle the most collected silver coins in the world.
